The Corner of the Island

The first time I sat on this sandbank on the corner of the island we had paddled in our inflatable canoe to where the sandbank meets the shore. As we paddled, fish were jumping all around. The wind and tide were pushing waves around the island from both sides, so that they met right where we sat. A manta ray moved away over the sand in front of us as we walked.

The photo was taken on a calm day with no waves. But the sandbank was still a beautiful place.
